AnonyMouse_3139 Posted May 31, 2012 Share Posted May 31, 2012 They use them in a fairly limited way at playgroup, just for those who are particularly challenging. The charts are private to the staff, the child and the parent though. I dont know what, if any, final reward there is, but could you match it to something the child likes most to play with or do. Guest Posted June 1, 2012 Share Posted June 1, 2012 I think sticker charts are a great resource for families, and may work in larger settings if they are private. Public sticker charts in large settings I don't like - either the good girls get all the stickers, or the "naughty boys", and children are always accutely aware of who has more stikcers than them - and will get upset even if they have just filled up their chart and got a new one, they still view it as having no stickers. Or people steal them from others Alternatively, marbles in a jar is a great whole group system, as children can award each other and the staff marbles, all get to participate in the reward - maybe a new toy, a trip etc. Link to comment Share on other sites More sharing options...
AnonyMouse_31752 Posted June 1, 2012 Share Posted June 1, 2012 Hi We use sticker charts actually we got some PTS ones that were nice and they are always private to staff, child and parent. However they don't always work with all children, we have had some children who either get bored or who don't care enough about the sticker in the first place for it to be an incentive. In these cases we use either activity incentives so they can pick an activity they really enjoy engaging with, sometimes we can work with the family and link up with activities that are done at home, we kind of go with whatever works and that can be really individual.
