Computer Virus Warning

I received this e-mail this morning, warning of a computer virus, which sounds BAD, so I thought I'd let you all know so you can cut & paste it & warn all your contacts via e-mail. Title: Important - this is a genuine warning.

 

 

VERY IMPORTANT WARNING

> Please send it to everybody you know who accesses the Internet.

>If you receive it DO NOT OPEN THE FILE UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES, and

>your screen saying: "It is too late now, your life is no longer

 

>beautiful." Subsequently you will LOSE EVERYTHING IN YOUR PC and the

 

>person who sent it to you will gain access to your name, e-mail and

Scary isn't it and really very annoying that people haven't got better things to do with their time ( and obvious expertise that could be used for more productive pursuits) than hack into systems.

Hi Chocolate girl -

Thanks for the warning. While it's always useful to be careful about these things most of them turn out to be hoaxes (particularly ones that say " this is a genuine warning").

 

If you get any attachments (powerpoint files or whatever) from people you don't recognise you shouldn't open them anyway, so the advice is sound. But if you look at this page you'll find a hoax warning that looks remarkably similar.
