Does anyone know some good animal parachute games? We are getting bored of ring a ring o rosies and throwing the ball into the centre!

As you only have a small group try the swopping game. So give everyone the name of an animal making sure there are two of each (two cats/two dogs etc etc or elephants etc So you call cats and everyone has to lift the parachute up and the two cats swop places underneath the parachute.

You can also play one little elephant came out to play (look on you tube for the tune) as long as the adults can keep the parachute above the childrens heads on their own!!

ours like to play:-

See the little bunnies sleeping, 'til it's nearly noon,

shall we try to wake them with a merry tune?

Oh so still, are they ill? Shh Shh

Jumping/hopping/skipping bunnies

So the children lay down under the parachute and you sing the song lifting the parachute up as you say the last line, (jumping bunnies, jump, jump jump, jumping bunnies, jump, jump jump, jumping bunnies jump, jump, jump, jump, jump, jump

We change the animals to dinosaurs, cats etc.

we play sharks whereby the children sit on the floor (indoors in the hall) in a circle with their legs forward and holding the parachute over their legs and ripple it as if it is the sea. One child is chosen to be the shark and go underneath the sea. The shark then pulls children's legs so that they are pulled under the parachute (has to be a slippy floor) and they then become sharks to do the same to other children until everyone is a shark under the sea. Very much a favourite in my class with lots of squeals and giggles!
