Vacancy for a pre-school assistant/key person to work in a small pre-school in Winchester, Hampshire.

:

Qualifications:

Essential: Minimum GCSE English and Maths Grade C

Minimum Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare, Learning and development.

Level 2/3 or above in Safeguarding

Desirable: Level 4 or Foundation Degree, First Aid, Food Hygiene

 

Skills and experience:

To be able to work as part of a team and to be enthusiastic and passionate about improving outcomes for children.

To have proven experience of working with children with English as an additional language.

To have sound knowledge of the Early Year’s Foundation stage and to be ready to implement the new EYFS from September 2012

Ability to motivate self and others and have an innovative and flexible approach.

To work as a key person under the direction of the Manager to a small group of children to whom some may have English as a second language and to be able to care and plan for their individual needs.

To work with the rest of the team to provide a safe and secure environment for all the children.

To support the rest of the team under the direction of the Manager to provide high quality education and learning for all the children.

 

Hours of work initially: Monday and Tuesday 8.30 - 4.15, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 8.30 - 1.00. possibility of increasing in the future.
