Guest
Hey, In my current setting we don't have a garden, so we rely on taking children to the park every day which makes planning essential. We plan in relation to our topic walks to the different locations (museum of london, park, supermarket, post office etc), we bring materials in outing bags to the park depending on children likes or needs. In my previous nursery, we set up our garden with all 6 areas of learning, try and bring as much of the curriculum outside. PSED, playing games, getting themselves dressed etc. CLL: Have access to books and pens and paper ourdoors, easel etc, sing songs, make windchimes from letters, PSRN: Pouring and measuring activities, working with shapes, hopscotch K&U: Bring your topic outside, go for walks out of the nursery, set up your sand tray as a zoo, a jungle with sticks and leaves, a farm etc. PD: running, jumping, balancing, playing with vehicles, push a long bikes, little prams or carts CD: Again easel, play doh on a table, messy materials (flour, cooked pasta), drama outdoors... Basically just take the things you do on a daily basis outdoors as much as possible.
