AnonyMouse_35577
I would definitely be asking them about the new EYFS
Guest
why do you want to work in the eyfs? what makes a good practitioner? how do young children learn?
AnonyMouse_2418
Don't forget to query any gaps in experience- and include a few safeguarding questions - I often find scenarios and what if questions work well as they give you a good idea how a person will respond in a difficult position. AnonyMouse_11653
When we recently interviewed I enclosed a scenario for them to complete in their own writing and bring along to the interview. Found this really helpful as an insight into their written English and their knowledge!! Kris
Guest
Having interviewed on Friday I liked the idea of asking if the candidate could tell us about a successful activity that they had led. It was eye opening to hear what was deemed successful! It also gives an idea of how someone works if they are creative or inspiring or if they are excited by the task they are telling you about. I also asked what they thought they personally brought to the job, how they would build positive relationships with our parents, how would they handle a disgruntled parent, deal with a disclosure from a child. . . Oh and why they applied for this particular role.
