Teacher Training

Hello

 

I was wondering if anyone could give me some advice, I am currently working at a Children Centre under Derbyshire County Council, I am due to start my 2nd year of an Open university degree in Early years. I am looking into becoming a teacher once I have completed my degree in 2015 which seems very far away, but i was just interested to hear about different routes and training available to achieve this?

I've just completed a full time PGCE. If you have any specific questions about that please feel free to ask away (I'm away for a few days so I might not reply straight away). There are some changes coming in teacher training pathways so it might not be worthwhile also investigating again nearer the time.

I did the GTP however I have heard it may not be running for much longer. The government in their infinate wisdom seem to going for a totally school based training route although I do not know any details.
