We need to replace our current waterproofs ready for winter, and instead of having seperate trousers and jackets we are thinking about having the all in one suits.

What are peoples experiences of these?

Are Muddy puddles the best and really worth the money???

Where is the cheapest place that you have bought them?

Would really appreciate some advice as it will be quite an investment and I would like to get it right.

Thank you

We prefer separate trousers and jackets so that if the children get hot, they can just wear trousers, but it does mean those children who like to bathe in the mud pit tend to get "seepage" round their middles! We'll need to replace some of our kit this year too, so would be interested in response. We have the expensive ones atm and they have lasted well.

I personally would not reccommend muddy puddles - they changed their manufacturer about a year ago and we've found they are not as waterproof. Togz are much better than muddy puddles. Several companies will do discounts on waterproofs have a look on http://www.raindrops.co.uk/Catalogue/Schools-and-Nurseries and http://www.waterproofworld.co.uk/schools.htm , we have also arranged a discount with http://www.littletrekkers.co.uk/ and http://www.littleadventureshop.co.uk/ for our FS.

The best waterproofs we ever had were spotty otter ones which we got in a spring sale they were reduced from £50 down to £10 and were amazing. However we have never found them at this price again.

We find at our FS dungarees and jacket to be the best combo, the dungarees can be worn on their own in the warmer weather, however dungarees prevent the mud from getting between jacket and trousers when the children decide to slide in the mud! We also fine the children manage these easier for toileting.

Yes, I see what you mean, the trousers are quite difficult to pull down - the waists have very strong elastication and when they've got their own trousers and sometimes tights underneath, it's a bit of a palaver!

arghhh...wished I'd known this a few weeks ago!! We've had MP for years and they have been fab; needed to replace recently and bought the bib and braces ones from their Amazon shop - half price so about £11 each

we have trouser and coat sets and all in one sets too but find the dungaree type ones protect when it's too hot for jackets but you still want top half coverage during messy/mud/water play iyswim

we have a bit of everything but had always found these the better ones...will be keeping a close eye on how they perform then - feel slightly better knowing wee only paid half the price!
