Guest
I ahve just scared myself by the cost of racks designed to store wellies. To buy these for my children would cost £750! I need 5x30. Please - are they worth the money? We do not have a secure outside area so cannot leave boots outside. We are currently thinking of buying flexi-tubs which hold about 10 pairs each, so each class would have 3 to move in and out each day - my best solution so far. Any ideas gratefully received! AnonyMouse_1469
I bought a cheap greenhouse thing from wilkinsons, cost about £15 and I use that for all the wellies ( 3 shelves in it)! It has a zip up cover too, so everything stays dry. I did have to gaffer tape the poles together, as every time we lifted it to take it back indoors, the poles came apart, but good old gaffer tape ( duck/duct tape) is a girl's best friend! AnonyMouse_7120
We use the fold up lunch box trolley on wheels(plastic coated wire type ones)' they hold 50+ pairs inside each other (children learn to do this very quickly)
AnonyMouse_665
I was thinking of buying a plastic tool shed you know the ones with a lid on top around 150 pounds. then putting cheap shelves in them with childrens names on. it is secure as you can put a lock on it. we have about 50 children that will need wellies also. buttercup

AnonyMouse_7120
It does work well, we put their names on bottoms of boots so easy to find, we move the trolley around depending on weather and they soon learn that if they have to go past the wellie trolley they need to put them on before going to next area. Guest
Thank you so much - it really did seem like an awful lot of money! Now we've got all the wellies in school we're watching the skies for rain! May have to get the watering cans out to create some puddles just for fun!
