AnonyMouse_21143
I have been told that the learning journies I supplied last year will have to be supplemented with an EYFS Cohort Data Analysis Sheet for reception class. I therefore have to go back to said learning journies and try and 'best fit' the children's development to the new EYFS 17 point framework. Am I doing the right thing? Would appreciate some help. Guest
Hi we are baselining all our new children - I do have evidence from nursery but found it difficult to fit the old system under the new system heading (hope I'm making sense) - if the new setting of your children have to base-line shouldn't it be their job and not yours? Or I have completely misunderstood?
Guest
What I should have said and didn't is that we have been advised to baselining by looking at a 'best fit' under each aspect of the new heading. Hope that makes more sense.
Guest
As a reception teacher I have had to try to fit the nursery reports and my observations together under the new EYFS.I certainly haven't tried to get the nurseries to do it for me. At the end of the day I feel that I need ot assess the information I was given against the children and the observations I have made of them so far. Some have gone up, some down, some stayed the same, and these were due to differences between the old and new EYFS and in some cases due to development in the child. Sadly a small number were also due to mismatches in the transition reports and the child's abilities, but they were only a few.
AnonyMouse_21143
Thanks ever so much for your comments. I think it's rather unnecessary that I do this.
