AnonyMouse_4495 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 INNER PEACE I am passing this on to you because it definitely worked for me and we could all do with a little calm. By following the simple advice I read in an article, I have finally found inner peace. The article read: “The way to achieve inner peace is to finish off all the things you have started” So I looked round the house to see all the things I had started and hadn’t finished……….and before leaving the house this morning I finished off a bottle of red wine, a bottle of white wine, the Baileys, three Bacardi Breezers, the Jack Daniels, the Prozac, some Valium, some cheesecake and a box of chocolates. You have no idea how good I feel !! Quote

Guest Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I had to laugh out loud, I followed your advice from the other post thinking I am going to find some profound statement............. to find this Hair of the dog, me thinks Thanks. Peggy Quote
AnonyMouse_64 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 I'm not sure about inner peace but that is definately a tonic. Now I just have to find where I've left the gin........... Quote
AnonyMouse_2760 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 This made me laugh - I could do with a bit of inner peace at the mo Quote
AnonyMouse_79 Posted August 24, 2005 Posted August 24, 2005 Can I forget the housework and the pile of ironing, then?? That would certainly bring inner peace! Quote

Guest Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Can I forget the housework and the pile of ironing, then?? That would certainly bring inner peace! 36844[/snapback] Sorry, I need a little bit of help here. Could anyone tell me the meaning of these alien words - 'housework' and 'ironing'. Are you perhaps in training for some little known Olympic sport for 2012...? Maz Quote
Guest Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 If 'housework' and 'ironing' are to be made into Olympic events, can we set a petition to make sure they are 'men only' events? Karen Quote
Guest Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 My Hubby Dave would definately get the GOLD medal. He won't let me touch the ironing ( and I don't complain) as for housework, he's the best. Why he puts up with me I don't know. Peggy Quote
AnonyMouse_1027 Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Can we add cleaning the oven to that Maz...i did that this morning, could have done with a large of vino afterwards  Quote

Guest Posted August 25, 2005 Posted August 25, 2005 Hali - have you heard of Oven Clean, a very nice young man comes around and an hour later you have an oven that looks as if it has just come out of the show room. All this happens while I am relaxing in the garden or reading posts on here. Quote
AnonyMouse_2732 Posted September 10, 2005 Posted September 10, 2005 Oh, this is why I love it here so much!!!!! Sue Quote
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted September 17, 2005 Posted September 17, 2005 Only just found this thread, I love the idea of having a man round to clean the oven. I did see a van drive past my house a couple of weeks ago and it was calld 'Rent a Man', the mind boggles! Quote
AnonyMouse_2127 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 In the centre of town one afternoon I noticed a sofa with 2 men lounging on it. Not a very good advert for the new company they were advertising - "Rent a Husband" !!!!! There were a couple of women talking to them - perhaps booking them to do some "husbandly chore". I overheard an older lady who was passing by, say "It's not even worth thinking about it as they are doing exactly what my husband does all the time !!!! Sue J Quote
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Mines doing it right now Sue, how much do you think I'll get for him??? Quote
AnonyMouse_2127 Posted September 19, 2005 Posted September 19, 2005 Not a lot, Rea, because he is probably just lying there. Mine is watching Waking the Dead on TV - but he's really very, very clever, because he is watching it through his closed eyelids !!!! How smart is that?? Would I get more for him as he is that clever ?? Sue J Quote
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 My hubby watches loads of things through closed eyes, but dare any of us try to switch channels 'Oi, I was watching that' Cor, we could make a mint Quote
AnonyMouse_64 Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 If it wasn't for the fact that my husband spends so much time asleep in front of the tv I might've started to worry that he had 2 other wives! He just rests his eyes though ........ Quote
Guest Posted September 20, 2005 Posted September 20, 2005 Love your post, Sue J Sounds all too familar! Another one of my hubby's "activities" is to lie down on the couch and fall asleep under the pretext "I'm just stretching my back"! It's a good job the ironing fairy never sleeps Quote
