Guest lou73
Hi, I was wondering if any of you lovely people could help me please. I am just about to start teaching my nursery children about eyes and how they work. I would love to teach them some simple songs to link in to this learning but am a little stuck! Any suggestions would be great thanks Lou
AnonyMouse_19782
was going to suggest Jeepers Creepers until I looked at wikipedia, seems it was used in a horror film. The only other one I can think of and the lyrics are on wikipedia is When Irish Eyes are smiling, but it isn't a particularly easy song - first verse not too bad though. AnonyMouse_26037
The only one I can think of is the hymn 'He gave me eyes...' ticks all the senses boxes but is quite tricky and I'm not sure if it's appropriate!
Guest
Can you use an old favourite "If you're happy and you know it...blink your eyes/wink your eyes/ close your eyes?" I tried "raise an eyebrow" but don't think this line quite fits in.
AnonyMouse_19762
Don't know if this is helpful at all - mine really enjoy this one....... On my face i have a nose And way down here I have ten toes I have two eyes that I can blink I have a head to help me think I have a chin and very near I have two ears to help me hear I have a mouth with which to speak And when I run I use my feet Here are my arms to hold up high And here's a hand to wave bye-bye
AnonyMouse_3735
Two little eyes to look around. Two little ears to hear each sound. One little nose to smell what's sweet. One little mouth that likes to eat.
Guest
The only one I can think of is when Goldilocks went to the house of the bears of what did her blue eyes see.

I use my nose to smell, I use my nose to smell, And when I want to smell a flower, I use my nose to smell. I use my tongue to taste, I use my tongue to taste, And when I want to taste a peach, I use my tongue to taste. I use my ears to hear, I use my ears to hear, And when I want to hear a bird, I use my ears to hear. I use my hands to touch, I use my hands to touch, And when I want to touch a cat, I use my hands to touch. Edited October 8, 2012 by Inge

AnonyMouse_20748
No tune - you just sort of 'chant' it!!! :1b I sort of 'chant' most of my singing!!!   as I make up songs so much and change them each time to trick the children it always works LOL Sometimes I panic when someone hears me having one of the 'chanting' moments all my staff are used to it. Just love music cds that has the tune so I can make up words. Off to get on the x factor Sue Edited October 10, 2012 by Bigsue
