AnonyMouse_19135
I'm so angry!! I completed and hand delivered this form yesterday and have just had an email to say it's not fully completed. I've got the form in front of me and all sections are completed! So I'm guessing I've not put enough detail in or something.... I've put urgent in the title as we have a couple of families in crisis who need their children in at the setting asap. So is there anyone who has recently completed this that could give pointers as to what they put on theirs please? The sections are: Why the setting is interested in participating in the scheme and how it can contribute to improving outcomes for these children and their families. I've put about children leaving to go to settings who already are on the 2yr funding scheme, also about these children who need urgent care, our ethos of providing affordable high quality care etc - what have I missed??? How the setting will ensure high quality childcare is provided, include details of any Quality Improvement Programme or process the setting has or will undertake, and how the particular needs of the children will be met RAG, sef etc. I'm wondering if this is where they are saying it's not complete as the highlighted bit I am unsure of as I don't what the particular needs are???? I know the other sections are complete but unsure about these two. Any help anyone can give would be gratefully received as I'd like to get it delivered there again tomorrow is possible..... Guest
Hello, I have just seen your post about filling in the forms for 2 yr olds. Although I have not completed them myself. I am wondering if information is required about the particular needs of care for 2 yr olds? E.g. The arrangements you have to support children who may require a sleep/rest, facilities for nappy changing, toilet training. Resources, equipment, activities, provided to support the needs of 2 yr olds. Perhaps your local authority development worker or advisory teacher could offer some further support in completing information required. I hope you get the support you need. AnonyMouse_21338
they may also be asking how you would help the reffered children and their familes (depending on the need of the child /family) - eg, do you have good childrens centre support, are you in contract with your local health visitor, do you offer 'learning at home' opportunities, mention that you have a named SENCo and child protection officer. " All children have a key person assigned and regular obs will be made to assess the needs of all children ..." etc, etc. " regular planning meetings and evaluations to ensure the needs and requirements of all children are being met...." I didnt complete any forms for my setting ( i think our chairperson did... we didnt have any chioce tbh !) We had to have an Ofsted rating of good or outstanding but i know what criteria my children and families have to meet, so ive kind of based the above info on that really . AnonyMouse_30128
Firstly just to say i suspect this is a local document from your Lea...i am not aware of the dfe sending this out ...we have never doen one if so! Why the setting is interested in participating in the scheme and how it can contribute to improving outcomes for these children and their families. I've put about children leaving to go to settings who already are on the 2yr funding scheme, also about these children who need urgent care, our ethos of providing affordable high quality care etc - what have I missed??? I would tell them your staff's qualifications and experience with this age group, any particular courses you have gone on/home languages spoken/ access to other services and connections with them (salt/ed psych?? etc) partenership working etc How the setting will ensure high quality childcare is provided, include details of any Quality Improvement Programme or process the setting has or will undertake, and how the particular needs of the children will be met RAG, sef etc. Again qualifications /birth to three matters/ toys for this age group (cause and effect etc) any specialised access for these children ...do they need support from HV's or from parent partnership training . I guess it's about you proving that you can help in an holistic way both in the setting and at home ...have you been on caf training or working with parents courses?? Sorry a bit jumbled up but hope it gives you a few ideas!
AnonyMouse_73
Hi mrsbat, some good pointers for you already. LAs will have their own criteria for settings involved in the 2 year old funding, and obviously in yours you have it complete this form. I would guess that need to be showing how you will accommodate these 2 year olds, and especially if you currently don't take them. For example, what difference having 2 year olds might make for your premises, environment, routine of the day; staffing etc. In addition, as others have said, what training you might want or need, what relationships you have with other agencies, if you have CAF training (esp lead professional); links with Children centre etc. In terms of meeting individual needs, what do you do now to meet varying needs? If in doubt, have you an early years team you can contact? would imagine they just want to know that you've thought it through carefully before deciding, know what the implications for your setting are, and that its not just about having a parent who wants or needs a place now (which Im sure you have, I think maybe they just want to know that).
