Hi all,

Our children are showing a big interest in pirates and princessess and we want to follow this interest over the next few weeks.

Have any of you got any brilliant ideas we could use. We are looking for activities, stories etc.

Our children are aged 2-3yrs.

Thank-You :1b

Another great Pirate book is 'Portside Pirates' - well worth buying the copy with the CD - our children love it! :1b

Lots of things you can make ......treasure maps, hats........

Our pre-school dog 'Pat' (toy, obviously :D ) was kidnapped by pirates - luckily they had left some maps when they took him and we were able to follow them and get him back! xD  xD

Pirate treasure boxes with dressing up clothes, hats and patches, jewels plus make your own jewels - (spray painted pasta shapes and string) - treasure hunt - its amazing what children call treasure - we did a hunt around our car park and found leaves and feathers and even an odd bit of sponge - took lots of pictures and made a book - laminated including the feathers and the leaves about "our treasure hunt". For the really adventurous we made a pentagon den - the plans I found on there somewhere - which was then turned into a cave with bits of dark cloth etc. Map making using teabag stained paper. We are lucky enough to have a Beebot and a treasure map so we have a small ring box with a gem in it for Beebot to be programmed to find the treasure. We also live near the seaside so had a whole group outing to the beach where the children found some Xs in the sand and dug for their treasure (lunch boxes filled with party favours) - this could be adapted for the sandpit if you have one - Have obviously had toooooo many children with this particular interest xD  xD
