Child-initiated play

Hi all,

I'm being observed on Monday by the deputy head and the school improvement officer - eeeek. However, I am pleased (and rather surprised) that they want to see me teaching through child-initiated play (they usually prefer to see key group time!).

I am anticipating the usual - so how do you know what all the children are doing/learning? sort of questions, as neither of them are early years specialists. Just wondering if anyone has some good concise ways of explaining child-initiated learning to back up my explanation?
