Guest Anje Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Hi, still having problems with exactly what the objective 'begins to break the flow of speech into words' means. Can anyone help please??? Thanks x
Guest tinkerbell Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 do you think it means they sound out each word as they read along with you or mark make ....eg I am going to buy some sweets ?
Guest Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 it means saying the words aloud as they write, which they will have seen us modelling. it may be that they write letters/letter-like shapes/wiggles etc or use sounds appropriately x
AnonyMouse_21338 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 does it mean that each squiggle represents a word ..and they say each word as they squiggle ?
AnonyMouse_3307 Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 Oral speech is continuous sound. In order to write, the child has to hear the individual word units and understand that each unit is a whole and separate "thing". Cx
Guest Posted November 17, 2012 Posted November 17, 2012 does it mean that each squiggle represents a word ..and they say each word as they squiggle ? yes i would say so x
