I am a bit short of 'younger' toys for my very young 2 and half year olds...i really need ideas for button/flap/machanism toys but i don't really do primary coloured plastics....anyone got and ideas? I have quite a lot of cause and effect things (marble tree/ric rac road etc) but finding my little ones need more choice!

My thoughts too Joanneandalison, but you could always make your own which I have seen done by attaching various latches, door chains, bolts, locks etc to a flat cupboard so to speak. When all of the ironmongery is opened the cupboard can be opened. An old folding dartboard would work which reminds me I was offered one of those recently...must remember to take up the kind offer!

A favourite with our younger children is Melissa and Dougs latches board, lots of doors to open after undoing the locks. Joanne

I had one of these - may still have it in my lock up! It was brilliant. :1b
