AnonyMouse_30128 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 I am a bit short of 'younger' toys for my very young 2 and half year olds...i really need ideas for button/flap/machanism toys but i don't really do primary coloured plastics....anyone got and ideas? I have quite a lot of cause and effect things (marble tree/ric rac road etc) but finding my little ones need more choice!
AnonyMouse_14688 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 A favourite with our younger children is Melissa and Dougs latches board, lots of doors to open after undoing the locks. Joanne 1
AnonyMouse_705 Posted November 20, 2012 Posted November 20, 2012 My thoughts too Joanneandalison, but you could always make your own which I have seen done by attaching various latches, door chains, bolts, locks etc to a flat cupboard so to speak. When all of the ironmongery is opened the cupboard can be opened. An old folding dartboard would work which reminds me I was offered one of those recently...must remember to take up the kind offer! 2

AnonyMouse_30128 Posted November 20, 2012 Author Posted November 20, 2012 had to laugh when i read your replies...my old supervisor was always really worried about these boards because she felt it might teach children to escape!! I'll go and have another look Thanks....any more ideas??? 2
