AnonyMouse_1469
We bought this lovely book by Birdie Black for our children's christmas present. It's a really nice story, with a subtle message about giving.............(none of the characters think about themselves, when they make nice clothes out of the offcuts from the King's present to his daughter, all of the gifts are for their loved ones). Two parents went very misty eyed over it. One said.........'oh it's lovely; I found a really HORRID book in the shop, all about Santa needing a wee........just horrid'........she couldn't understand me laughing, until I showed her our copy on the bookshelf! Another really nice book I can recommend is ;This is not my hat by J.Klassen..................the children really get into debating whether it is right to take something that doesn't belong to you.........and what happens to the fish at the end!
AnonyMouse_13453
We also have 'Just Right For Christmas' and its a lovely book. As someone who sews I particularly enjoyed all the buttermilk sewing patterns hidden within the illustrations! Just lovely. Nobody borrowed 'father Christmas needs a wee' this year, totally disappointing book. 'The dinosaur who pooped Christmas' wasn't popular either!
