Guest
We have recently had visit from OFSTED. The majority of our pupils made expected progress last year ie from 40-60 months to 6+ points on profile with a significant proportion making 'more than expected' progress in Linking sounds and letters and Reading (having a large percentage entering at below expected 30-60 months). Our grading for progress was 'satisfactory' because 'expected progress' is not sufficient and there needs to be a significant % of children that make 'more than expected progress' to get a 'good'. My head is working on the assumption that the significant percentage is about 28%. I'm very concerned about how our children are going to make 'good progress' when the goal posts have been moved and the new ELG are more like level 1 national curriculum. How can 'expected progress' be not good enough!!!
AnonyMouse_3307
...because if all children made expected progress relevant to their starting point you are not narrowing the gap, ie improving outcomes for those more likely to be in the bottom 20%.
