AnonyMouse_2821
Hi Please can anyone tell me where I can find info re qualifications framework? I wondered where an EYP is in relation to a teacher. Is an NQT the same level as an EYP? Thanks
AnonyMouse_8466
Skippy both EYPS and QTS are Level 6, however an EYP cannot teach in a mainstream school. So whilst they are seen to be equal in terms of the Level, they are not equivalent across the whole sector. Mind you, I'm always surprised to see EYPS on the 'qualifications' database when it is always stressed that it is a status, and not a qualification in itself. Not sure why you're asking, but I hope that helps. You can check it out on the qualifications finder database here:- https://www.education.gov.uk/eypqd/qualification-search
AnonyMouse_2821
Thanks Maz, we had been having discussions and my thinking was your description. Have you heard anything about training opportunities for us people with EYPS to train to gain QTS as a recent recommendation from the Nutbrown review 2012?
