is that a crocodile ? no its a walkodile!

Recommended Posts

Hi All,

back in the summer we ordered 2 walkodile duo's for preschool with our tesco vouchers, only received them recently and today was the virgin outing using them. We took out 5 children ( our older ones -wed pm) and have to say they worked really well - gave children more independence and responsibility and enabled children to be paired and encourage lots of chat between them. There was a moment when one of girls was flagging slightly and her partner had to be asked to slow down but otherwise a great resource- does anyone else use them ?? and what are your experiences please :D

We have had a "walking rope" for over 8 years that my husband made for us. He poached the idea when he saw it being used on a holiday in Menorca. He simply used a lightweight rope and tied a half hitch every 1.5 feet (approx.) We are registered for 25 children so he tied 13 knots. The children walk either side of the rope and hold one in front and one behind the knot. It has been very successful for us and we can walk 25 children at a time with minimum fuss. Everybody loves seeing us when we are out and about the village and one local artist even painted a picture of us all entitled "The Playgroup Rope Gang"

We have them- got two actually. We bought them from a grant a couple of years ago before we had an outdoor area. Although they are good now we have an outdoor area we dont use them very much. My main gripe with them is we find at this time of year trying to get the harness on over thick winter coats can be such a pain but they are good very good- not sure if I would have bought two if we had to pay for them
