AnonyMouse_19782
Definitely making pancakes. The children love putting on different toppings. We read Mr. Wolf's Pancakes or The Big Fat Pancake.
Guest
A pancake race! Bring out the frying pans and rubbery pancakes (I'm good at making these!) before tucking in to some tasty ones Actually am now thinking we might get the children to make and design dough ones for their race with interesting oddments on top mmmm
Guest
As a child minder I struggle with pancake day. The shop bought ones are horrid but Ive had to make do with these in the past. Im not comfortable with the idea of hot fat and children. How do other childminders get round this?
AnonyMouse_1195
There isn't really much fat required so it doesn't spit, but the pan does get very hot. You could make some in advance, layer them with parchment paper, and warm them through when you need them, and use one for tossing in the air !
