Steve Posted March 8, 2013 Posted March 8, 2013 Hi all - Comic relief have asked us to help remind you about Red Nose Day on Friday 15th March, and that they have produced some free packs for early years providers. We've also opened up a Red Nose Day forum area, where you can talk about any plans or ideas you might have, and I would love to hear about any past exploits you've got up to. There may be prizes! :1b Please read their news release below: Featuring Justin Fletcher and his CBeebies friends, the new packs are full of activity ideas, fundraising tips, balloons, stickers and posters, plus an order form for the brand new Red Noses. Links to the new Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum will also help to ensure that Red Nose Day is a time for both laughing and learning. As Niki Sanders, early years practitioner, comments: “Over the years we’ve found that Red Nose Day is a brilliant way to introduce young children to the idea that they can raise money to help others. And it’s also great fun – not only for the children, but for staff and parents!” Last Red Nose Day, schools and early years groups around the country pulled out the stops to raise an amazing total of £8.8 million. This money is helping to support people living incredibly tough lives both at home in the UK and across Africa. The cash really does make a huge difference – raising just £40 this Red Nose Day could buy vaccinations to help protect eight children in Africa against five deadly diseases.
