Guest
Easy Harvest Song ideas It goes (Blah) Means you can change colour or type of veg Bumping up and down on the big Blah Tractor Bumping up and down on the big Blah Tractor Bumping up and down on the big Blah Tractor Bringing in the Blah Its great as the children love bumping up and down on their seats or jumping up and down We sing this one to "the wheels on the bus" The leaves on the trees turn orange and brown, orange and brown orange and brown. The leaves on the trees turn orange and brown all through the town. The leaves on the trees come tumbling down," " " etc all through the town The leaves on the ground go swish, swish swish etc all through the town. Hi, this is an idea I've 'borrowed' from our music co-ordinator. why don't you sing... Here we go round the 'chestnut tree', the chestnut tree the 'chestnut tree' all the conkers fell on me, on a cold and misty morning! Each verse change the type of tree and fruit/nut and accompany this with associated picture or even paper Mache models! Hi I have used this in the past. To the tune of What shall we do with drunken sailor.... What have you brought to our harvest table (x3) come put it on our table I (or we) have bought a loaf of bread (X3) to put on the harvest table repeat for as many different objects as you like! End with We'd like to share our harvest table (x3) (I can't remember the last line though, so over to you to make one up!!) Have a harvest table ready and real or paintings of the objects sung about. This can go on as long as you like! I‘ve used a song very successfully which is sung to the tune of hear we go round the mulberry bush and is about Farmers! This is the way we dig the soil (x3) when we are being farmers This is the way we plant the seeds when we are being farmers This is the way we water the ground this is the way we harvest/ pick the crop You can add verses if appropriate but I’ve found that was quite enough! Harvest time H is for harvest this lovely time of year A is for apples all crunchy that we hear R is for ripe autumn fruits – look and see V is for vegetables we have for our tea E is for every ear of corn that is grown S is for scatter the seeds that are sown T is for tractors that carry our crops At this harvest time T is to say thank you I is to say I love you M is for much love all around E is for everyone we love in the world At this harvest time Bobbing up and down on my big red tractor Bobbing up and down on my big red tractor Bobbing up and down on my big red tractor Bobbing up and down on my big red tractor Bringing in the Beetroot (or choose what to bring in) Bobbing up and down on my big green tractor Bobbing up and down on my big green tractor Bobbing up and down on my big green tractor Bringing in the cabbages (or choose what to bring in) Bobbing up and down on my big yellow tractor Bobbing up and down on my big yellow tractor Bobbing up and down on my big yellow tractor Bringing in the sweet corn (or choose what to bring in) You can choose what things to bring in or change the colours of the tractor.. Also can’t tell you the tune just make one up. Chorus: Oats, beans, and barley grow, Oats, beans, and barley grow, Can you or I or anyone know How oats, and beans, and barley grow? Verse 1: First the farmer sows his seed, Stands up tall and takes his ease, He stamps his foot and claps his hands, And turns around to view his lands. Chorus: Verse 2: Next the farmer waters the seed, Stands up tall and takes his ease, He stamps his foot and claps his hands, And turns around to view his lands. Chorus: Verse 3: Next the farmer hoes the weeds, Stands up tall and takes his ease, He stamps his foot and claps his hands, And turns around to view his lands. Chorus: Verse 4: Last the farmer harvests his seed, Stands up tall and takes his ease, He stamps his foot and claps his hands, And turns around to view his lands. Chorus:
Guest
We are singing what have you brought for harvest time. I think its the tune of skip to my Lou: What have you brought for harvest time, what have you brought for harvest time, what have you brought for harvest time, to put on the harvest table? Couldn't be easier!!!! Then you make up verses of things you have brought: I have brought a loaf of bread, I have brought a loaf of bread, I have brought a loaf of bread, to put on the harvest table etc etc. We are also singing cauliflowers fluffy, cabbages green - quite wordy but the tune is fab - very clicky and jazz hands!!! I'm not sure what book its from Hope that's helpful

Guest
Just been sorting this out for our head who asked me if I knew the words to this song so here it is, sure you remember it, I loved it at school: Cauliflowers fluffy and cabbages green, Strawberries sweeter than any I’ve seen Beetroot purple and onions white, All grow steadily day and night The apples are ripe, the plums are red, Broad beans are sleeping in a blankety bed Blackberries juicy and rhubarb sour, Marrows that are fattening hour by hour. Gooseberries hairy and lettuces fat Radishes round and runner beans flat The apples are ripe, the plums are red, Broad beans are sleeping in a blankety bed Orangey carrots and turnips cream, Reddening tomatoes that used to be green, brown potatoes in little heaps, Down in the darkness where the celery sleeps The apples are ripe, the plums are red, Broad beans are sleeping in a blankety bed
