Guest
The children in my class have recently loved the wind! We have been learning about shapes but since it has led to lots of kite making and things. I would like to have a balloon race with the class as some of our kites flew away, does anyone know of a suitable story? or wind ideas? They are reception Katie xxx

AnonyMouse_30128
one of my favourite books of all time (was a big part of my nvq assessment some years ago!) http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-Blue-Balloon-Mick-Inkpen/dp/0340918195/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1366214889&sr=8-1&keywords=the+big+blue+balloon The balloon is a bit magical and does all sorts of things and changes shape (fit in with your shape theme) surprise at the end of the story! we then made feet out of cardboard and made them in to aliens adding arms and hair and lots of eyes....great fun!! AnonyMouse_5970
I love The Blue Balloon too. Also The Wind Blew. Its a bit old fashioned but a great rhyming story. Suitable for threes up.
