Using and Applying maths

Hello everyone!

 

I have been asked on INSET training to deliver 3 examples of using and applying activities that i would do in Reception, they can link to anything as are for staff just have to be using and applying focussed. Been having a really tough time of it lately and my mind is totally blank, any ideas would really be appreciated!!!

I used to have a button box. Children would play and sort the buttons and there were as many different ways of sorting as there were children! Fascinating! I would then ask them to talk to me about their sorting or pattern SO using and applying.

 

Getting children to set the table for lunch.

 

Getting snack ready.

 

Etc...
