Guest
Please could you settle a disagreement, in physical (moving and handling) 40-60, how do you interpret: begins to use anticlockwise movement and retrace vertical lines. It's not the anticlockwise part but the end part. Thank you
AnonyMouse_30128
being able to make an l shape going up and down the line ....so being able to follow that line and not create an upside down v.....only IMO!
AnonyMouse_3307
It is the basis of letter formation. The anti clockwise movement is necessary to form letters such as a, g, d. The vertical retrace is going up and down the same line as you do when you form the vertical part of the d, so anticlockwise round then up and back down. This is needed to demonstrate correct letter formation later and is often a skill children are not secure in because too much focus is placed on the pencil use before they have had loads of opportunity to do things which develop this movement in gross motor activities such as painting with water on walls, using gloop in builders trays. cx
