AnonyMouse_5892 Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 If you are in a one and a half form entry class (45 children), please could you let me know how many staff you have working at one time? Thank you
AnonyMouse_79 Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 I think you need 2 teachers at all times! TAs etc depend on school.
AnonyMouse_5892 Posted May 27, 2013 Author Posted May 27, 2013 Thanks susan. It is the amount of TAs I am interested to find out about. When there are 2 classrooms.
AnonyMouse_3307 Posted May 27, 2013 Posted May 27, 2013 One of our 45 intake schools that I know of has mixed year groups in each year so they have a reception and a reception yr1, Yr 1 and a Yr1/yr 2 etc. They have a teacher and a TA for each class group.
AnonyMouse_9844 Posted May 28, 2013 Posted May 28, 2013 We are extremely lucky and have 5 staff. 2 teachers, 2 level 3s and a TA.
AnonyMouse_5892 Posted May 28, 2013 Author Posted May 28, 2013 We are extremely lucky and have 5 staff. 2 teachers, 2 level 3s and a TA. That is lucky! Are you all in class full time Monday -Friday?
Guest ShelleyT Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 I believe the ratio is one teacher to 30 children. Therefore you need two teachers. Legally I don't think you need any other staff but most schools would have one LSA per class. We do not always have an LSA. Some afternoons we have one between both classes.
AnonyMouse_9844 Posted May 29, 2013 Posted May 29, 2013 Yes millhill, except the ta doesn't work Friday afternoons.
Guest Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Was wondering what happens if more children join after the classes have been set. For example say there were on 28 expected but by September this increases to say 33 and there is only 1 teacher (but school has a 45 intake). Any ideas?
AnonyMouse_3307 Posted June 21, 2013 Posted June 21, 2013 Under infant class size legislation it is 30 per class group so you would need another teacher
