Guest
Hi all, Just wondering if you had some lovely inspiring ideas for activities based around the story Chicken Licken for a Reception class?? The foundation stage unit I'm in is looking at the general topic The Farm, and last week had 9 of the 17 chicken eggs hatch so we want to continue with the chicken theme (last week we did life cycle of a chick etc) so thought a story would be a more creative angle as it has been quite fact orientated with life cycle of chick, looking at animals from eggs, measuring the chicks etc so far. Have already got writing alternative story/ ending through a guided writing session of chicken licken but struggling to find/ think of many eggciting ideas (eggcuse the puns haha)- must be half term/ end of PGCE brain! AnonyMouse_30128
how about how many birds do they know /can they identify (use of binoculars/tally charts in the garden etc) making nests (see ABC's dinosaur eggs ideas?) ...have you looked at the nature detectives website...loads on there. They have id charts and lots of activity ideas. Gravity? have you tried the experiment with dropping a ball and measuring how high it bounces then placing a small ball on top of another...and watch what happens! What about other things that come out of eggs?
