AnonyMouse_4145 Posted September 27, 2005 Posted September 27, 2005 just wondered whether anybody else ever uses bark chips for a sensory tray, I saw them being used in a nursery class and thought it a really good idea.... bought some at the weekend and had them out today - only problem is that they look like they could cause a lot of splinters - are there different types of bark chips? Am I worrying too much?! any advice welcomed
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 I've got 'forest floor' in my garden from B&Q. I did have rough hands after laying it all but no splinters. I think they do one specifically for childrens play areas but not sure if its kinder on hands. Good idea to use it to play with
AnonyMouse_79 Posted September 28, 2005 Posted September 28, 2005 One of my sons got a nasty splinter from wood chip in a park so do try and get something safe.
