Level 5 questionaire

Recommended Posts

I'm a bit confused, but bear with me: it has been a very long day and I have a headache the size of a small country.

I teach on an early years foundation degree. Our learners are funded by a mixture of LA bursary and student loan to make up the balance. The two years of their study with us leads to a Level 5, and progression (if they wish and are accepted) to the third top up year to full Honours degree.

How does all this relate to the issues raised by the questionnaire/survey?

But Student Loans are available for the top up year too. I wondered if it was a local thing? I shall wait for someone cleverer than me to explain it all. Or I shall go and do the survey and see what sorts of questions it asks.

It may be regional Maz as my last cohort on the FdA weren't being funded by LA, only employers and loans. They were very upset as it hadn't started that way and then they were left to either find the money or leave the course part way through. I also know that locally we had a level 5 course which was not part of an FdA but that seems to have disappeared into a health and social care only one so maybe this is what the survey is getting at.

On a (slightly) related topic I've just got a full time job lecturing at FE on Childcare and early years so should probably get my head back round this! Feels very strange after almost 12 months of primary teaching but definitely the right move although I will miss the children a lot. Feel I'll have to do lots of placement visits!
