AnonyMouse_33773
I'm in early years and have never heard of it - I'm even looking for a definition on-line!
AnonyMouse_33773
Early years in schools and in pre-schools/nurseries confused me... http://www.education.gov.uk/nationalcollege/index/support-for-schools/specialist-leaders-of-education-programme.htm
AnonyMouse_3307
We have them in our group of schools that make up our Teaching Alliance, but we do have Teaching School status as an LA. They will work in parallel to the LA team (if we keep our jobs that is.) They will be at any phase within the schools so not jsut to do with Early Years but right through all key stages. AnonyMouse_13789
I am an early years SLE. I have just been appointed. I was previously an AST and have been doing this role even though, technically they no longer exist. I don't think my role will be much different, it's just a different title! Guest
I applied for early years SLE post last year but didn't get it as they said I had 'no emotional intelligence', despite the fact I'd been an EYC for the previous 4 years....go figure. Lots of politics involved. However the SLE role is pretty much identical to AST role, except you don't get paid for it like ASTs do, instead the extra cash goes to your school for releasing you from your teaching commitments.
