AnonyMouse_1012 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Hi Everyone, The end is in sight and isn't the weather glorious for a change. I am just wondering what people do for their on entry baseline activities. Do you just use observations or do you have planned activities? Mel B
AnonyMouse_37605 Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 We use the pre-school or nursery assessments alongside our own observations and provision enhancements/adult directed activities in the first 2 weeks to gain the baseline. Our pre-schools make really good judgements that are a useful starting point so do you get any detailed age and stage transition notes? 1
Guest Posted July 10, 2013 Posted July 10, 2013 We assess them when they come in (formally) on a 1:1 adult basis. We then use this data, coupled with observations, to use as our starting school data. Sadly, the feeder nursery do not pass on useful Info. According to them, ALL chn have achieved all they are supposed to - no one is ever achieving lower than expected or has any special needs!!
