One comment I found really shocking was that a paediatrician had seen Daniel three weeks before his death and found no concerns... excuse me, I know children can be small (my own son was - so much so there was a special medical and I was called in for it) but what aspect of a four year old weighing 1 and a half stone - 21 POUNDS! - didn't ring any alarm bells!

Sue - I was saying the very same thing yesterday.......

 

My youngest and very gorgeous granddaughter has a few health issues - as a result of her hyper-mobility she has very little muscle (despite our very best efforts).......she is/was quite underweight and was 'marked as 'failure to thrive' (I found that very difficult at the time as I tended to associate that term with children not being cared for appropriately) - anyway my point is that at no point has she been so severely underweight.......
