AnonyMouse_48543 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 Hi can anyone there help me please. I have been involved with a breakfast and after school club for several years now, which is based within school grounds but run as a separate business. We provide breakfast and then snacks in afternoon, sometimes with the need to heat in microwave, The school however told us there was no need to register with environmental health as we were covered within their setting. However I have recently been informed that this is not correct anymore and need to be registered separately. Can anyone confirm this for me please
AnonyMouse_5970 Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 I don't know for sure but I would think you need to be registered with them. You need to contact the environmental health department of your local council. They are usually very helpful. They should supply you with a document called Safer Food Better Business which has everything in it to help you and your staff get to grips with the legislation and requirements. They would also be able to tell you if you still come under the school's 'umbrella'.
Guest Posted September 16, 2013 Posted September 16, 2013 yes you do they will give you advice too. You will have to use their guidance and will be star rated even if serving snacks only. I found them ok .
AnonyMouse_48543 Posted September 16, 2013 Author Posted September 16, 2013 Thank you for your help. Will get in touch with environmental health dept tomorrow and see about getting registered.
