AnonyMouse_48518 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Hello, The week after half term we are going to be doing lots of Halloween craft activities and other Halloween related fun. I was wondering if anyone had any children's stories they could recommend for me to ready with my children at story times. I've got Witch on a Broom. Any ideas really appreciated Thankyou :1b
AnonyMouse_44055 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 Funny Bones, Room on the Broom, Meg & Mog etc... Not very much help I'm afraid as I am in a school where there is a pretty much always been a bit of an anti hallowe'en policy so not a lot of Hallowe'en experience here. Mel x 1
AnonyMouse_19762 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 I really wasn't sure whether or not to comment....... We don't 'do' any Halloween 'stuff' at all - I'm not sure that I think it appropriate........ Will duck now! 4
SueFinanceManager Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 If you just want stories with witches in Winnie the witch stories are terrific 1
AnonyMouse_11396 Posted October 16, 2013 Posted October 16, 2013 No Halloween activities here either, not sure it's appropriate for our very young children.
AnonyMouse_48518 Posted October 16, 2013 Author Posted October 16, 2013 Thankyou everyone for your thoughts and comments. A lot of time has gone into planning for the weeks activities, we have discussed every thing with our parents who are very supportive for what we are doing. The children themselves are the ones that have decided what they want to do this week 1
AnonyMouse_19762 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Well that's all good then! Hope you have a super week! :1b Oh and......welcome to the forum! :1b
AnonyMouse_19782 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 (edited) We don't really cover Halloween, but a book which spooks the children is called something like In a Dark Dark House ...... There was a dark dark hallway...... I the dark dark hallway there was. Dark dark........ because we read it in a spooky way I suppose that's what unsettles them we do though have to be careful who we read it to ,even though it is quite a short book with a silly ending. I expect we will read some funny bones books too. A Dark dark Tale is the name of the book Edited October 17, 2013 by Panders
