AnonyMouse_2157
Hi all we are having a story inspire workshop with parents and children after half-term and I am looking for ideas for activities. In the past we have started with a little introduction for parents re the benefits of reading with their child and then the children come into the hall to do activities based around stories. These are some of the activities that we could do 1. Have story sacks out to share 2. Storyphones available to listen to 3. Make characters from stories with clay We need a few more activities that would help with our theme but need to be accessible to all children from 3-4 years and to all abilities. When we have done simple stick puppets the parents have usually ended up making the puppet rather than the child. Has anyone got any other ideas or things that they have used successfully at such an event?
AnonyMouse_11396
Could you make story, rhyme or song boxes. We have used these a lot out of old shoe boxes. Children could decorate them and relevant objects could be placed in them quite cheaply.
AnonyMouse_2157
That sounds like a nice idea Fredbear. Can you tell me more? We have 90 children so purchasing resources needs to be very very cheap or better still with no cost at all, particularly as we want to Inspire parents to be able to make more at home if they wanted to.
