AnonyMouse_3139 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 I've got to tell you about this book. It was brilliant. A man, Billy, gets to his car and finds a note on the window 'If you dont take this note to the police I will kill a lovely blonde school teacher somewhere in Napa County...If you do take this note to the police, I will instead kill an elderly woman active in charity work. You have six hours to decide. The choice is yours.' The whole book is based around notes and choices Billy has to make. I couldnt put it down. Well worth a read if you like psycological thrillers or even if you dont. Quote
Steve Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 And are you intending at some point to give us the title of this book, Rea? Quote
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted October 14, 2005 Author Posted October 14, 2005 Oh bugger! Velocity - Dean Koontz Quote
AnonyMouse_2732 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Oh Rea!! You spoilt it!!! I was already making notes as to the possible author.... where it might be set.... whether I could find it by reading blurbs in the library...an internet search......... Sue Quote
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted October 14, 2005 Author Posted October 14, 2005 Sue, there is only one person to blame for me posting the title and author. His query was worded to imply I had forgotten to inform you properly, I hadnt, I had intentionaly ommited reference to both because I knew you would have fun searching. I wont name him, but he knows who he is!!! Age takes us all in the end my friend Quote
AnonyMouse_2732 Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 As a matter of interest - academic now, I'm afraid - how long would we have had? Sue Quote
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted October 14, 2005 Author Posted October 14, 2005 Honestly? I'd have given you a week maybe two. Or one google search. Quote
Guest Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Oh bugger! 40400 I don't think I want to read that sort of book! Maz Quote
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted October 14, 2005 Author Posted October 14, 2005 Actually Maz, it was a bit graphic in parts, enough that I told my 12 yr old he cant read it. Still a brilliant book though. Quote

Still a brilliant book though. 40431 Bit like those links on the Norfolk County Council websit then! I'll have to put it on "if I ever get a chance to read anything that isn't a textbook" reading list! Maz Quote
Guest Posted October 14, 2005 Posted October 14, 2005 Thanks Rea, that sounds right up my street! Off to amazon site to order. Have you read Heat Kills by Lisa Gardner - sounds along the same sort of lines - I couldn't put it down. Quote
AnonyMouse_3139 Posted October 14, 2005 Author Posted October 14, 2005 I've never looked at the thriller type books before Emmajane, but now I have I'll search it out, thanks Quote
AnonyMouse_2157 Posted October 15, 2005 Posted October 15, 2005 that sounds brilliant Rea just my cup of tea! Have you read any of his other ones? this one sounds good too.... http://www.tesco.com/books/product.aspx?R=...1|Dean%20Koontz I'm off to but them both now... thanks for that I have just finished a book and was looking around for a good one Quote
AnonyMouse_2127 Posted October 16, 2005 Posted October 16, 2005 I thought I would reserve both those books online from my library. I was successful with Velocity but the library doesn't recognise Heat Kills. They have books by Lisa Gardner but not that one. Is it a very new book? Sue J Quote
