Guest
I wonder if any one has a better way of reviewing their policies. Currently, we review all policies every year but finding time to do this at once is difficult hence some policies are getting delayed. Please help! AnonyMouse_5970
We review them together at our monthly staff meeting. We do one each meeting. However we have way more than twelve policies, so the 'smaller' ones such as student placement, I review myself. If there are any changes, I then tell staff, either in person, or through a memo to each room or at the next meeting. The ones we review together are safeguarding, SEN, health and safety, behaviour management, equality and diversity etc. etc.
Guest
Hi, A good way to review them is to split them all up over 12 months and get each staff member to read 2 or 3 (or more?) each month and then sign that they have read them. At the same time, if they feel anything may need amending they can also add comments so the manager can make the changes. This way, the burden of reviewing them "job lot" is split over a year. AnonyMouse_39602
We do it as committee staff and parents , I have a parent reviewing our sen policy to give feed back as she is a parent of a child with sen and felt it would be good to get her perspective on it as it needs updating . We are just trying to do on a rolling programme and to reflect what we do as they had all previously been taken straight from psla book .
