Guest Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 In our nursery we have an independent creative area and the children have done some great collage work on their own. Next half term the focus area for creative work is collage and I am wondering how to extend their work? Any ideas?
AnonyMouse_2157 Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 there is a really great book called 'Beautiful Stuff' you can find it on Amazon... terrific ideas for extending not just collage but also the childrens other artistic skills and is a fab way to include parents
Guest Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 What type of collage work do they do now? If they've just explored media and materials and one type of glue. Extend to sorting specific types of media, including natural or man made materials, colour, shapes, texture, using different types of glue. Small scale collage on tiny pieces of paper to full group shared design on large wallpaper length sheets. Peggy
Guest Posted October 20, 2005 Posted October 20, 2005 You could also look at different ways of joining materials - glue sticks, pva, tape, split pins, paperclips, staples...............
