Dinosaur bones

Recommended Posts

One of our little lads loves dinosaurs and because we've been gardening this week I thought we could dig for dinosaur bones next week, keep everyone away from the freshly planted seeds!

Can I use real bones, bleached and washed or does anyone know where i can buy affordable large plastic ones? :)

I've used real bones before, my staff were a bit "eee yuk" but the children enjoyed it, I just saved them up for a couple of weeks or so from Sunday lunch etc., all cleaned up as mentioned above.

Have you got a local kind butcher who could sort you out?

As you are in a hurry - I would suggest the bonio biscuit type bones this time. Have you seen Sun Hats and Wellies site, she is making dinosaur eggs from plaster of paris.

No, I haven't, doesn't look difficult though, in the past I have been satisfied with making 'fossils' or impressions in salt dough with the children, but I'm sure mine would love to smash open some plaster of Paris eggs with a hammer

abc does ones with coffee ground they're fab
