AnonyMouse_13588 Posted April 10, 2014 Posted April 10, 2014 EARLY YEARS LEADER AND DEPUTY MANAGER (MATERNITY COVER) Coumes Spring Children’s Centre is registered as a Private Day Nursery for up to 34 children age 0 – 11. Our staff team are dedicated, caring and friendly and our ethos is “Learning through Play for a Happy Start in Life”. We are open from 8.00 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. every day apart from one to two weeks over Christmas. We are registered for Free Early Learning for 2, 3 and 4 year olds and offer full day care in addition. We are situated in the grounds of our local primary school and provide breakfast club and after-school club for children up to age 11. In addition, we run a holiday playscheme which is open to all children across Sheffield, age 2 – 11 years. We also take part in a scheme to provide places in our playscheme for children with a wide variety of disabilities. As Early Years Leader/Deputy Manager your duties will include; Leading delivery of the Early Years Foundation Stage across the whole setting by working directly with children, families, practitioners, students and other professionals. Providing advice and guidance as required. Job sharing the role of Room Leader for the Rising Stars Room (children age 2 – 4) and working with the Out-of-School co-ordinator to include children age 4 – 11. Leading planning meetings for staff, encouraging them to contribute their ideas and to share their knowledge of the developmental needs of children in their key worker groups. Taking responsibility for a group of children as key person. Deputising for the manager in her absence. Currently, there is a requirement to deputise for the manager for 1 ½ days per week and you will be super-numerary during these times. You will be responsible to the Manager and will work with them, discussing and mutually agreeing new policies or initiatives. QUALIFICATIONS: A degree or foundation degree in Early Childhood Studies (or working towards this.) Early Years Professional Status would be desirable. Level 3 qualification in Childcare and Education. At least three years post qualifying experience at level 3, in a group setting including supervisory duties, is essential. QUALITIES: The ability to empathise with children and respect their individual needs. The ability to inspire and to offer positive feedback for children, staff and parents. Good organisational skills. Good language and literacy skills. HOURS: 30 hours per week. (There is some flexibility in the number of hours and it may be possible to reduce the number to 20 if this is preferred.) SALARY: To be discussed.
