Brain Gym

Recommended Posts

Hi everyone!

I am currently undertaking my final year dissertation on the road to becoming a primary teacher. The topic I have chosen is Brain Gym. Does anyone out there have experience (limited or otherwise) on using brain gym in the classroom (nursery / infant / primary school)?

If so, would you be willing to fill in a quick & simple questionnaire for me? If so please find it atached to this post. :o

I am really looking forward to hearing your views on this one!!!!

Hi,

I'm not sure that what we do is quite the same but at our school we use 'mind kind' techniques to help children learn. This is to do with teaching in a kinesthetic way. We teach the children ways to remember information, we use interactive display boards and have had a lot of training on learning styles. I'm a fairly new user to this site and I didn't know how to get to your questionnaire. Sorry. EmmaB

Thanks Emma,

I think you're going more along the lines of the accelerated learning programme rather than brain gym, if i'm correct.

Brain gym is a set of specific exercises (physical movements) done usually at the start of the school day, to wake children up and enable them to be more receptive to learning. Do you do anything like this?

To open an attachment you just need to click (or double click) on the doc.

Hope this helps for future reference! :)
