AnonyMouse_19135 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 ....to act as a key person? We are advertising for a pre-school assistant and we need someone who can come straight in and work as a key person. I have had an applicant who sounds just lovely, she is very experienced but has no qualification - does it state anywhere that you need to be qualified? She is eager to qualify as soon as possible......... Quote
AnonyMouse_44476 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 Nope it's fine! We have an unqualified member of staff that is a key person x Quote
AnonyMouse_8282 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 They can even be better than some of the qualified!! 1 Quote
AnonyMouse_35585 Posted May 28, 2014 Posted May 28, 2014 I would have loved to have had some key children when I was training. It was hard getting to grips with it when I became qualified and suddenly had key children. :1b Quote
AnonyMouse_19135 Posted May 28, 2014 Author Posted May 28, 2014 Thanks all, I have to say this lady sounds lovely - of course we will interview everyone - but I needed to be clear as to what the 'regulations' and 'requirements' are Quote
AnonyMouse_5970 Posted May 29, 2014 Posted May 29, 2014 As far as I am aware, you need to follow the EYFS guidance on how many qualified staff you need and the level of qualification. This does not state that a key person needs to be qualified, so I think it's fine! Quote
