AnonyMouse_48226
Hi, I hope this is in the right area :1b but we have had a volunteer for the best part of a year and he is leaving on 11th July 2015. He volunteered two years ago after GCSE's and has recently come back in his gap year. I say volunteer but we had staffing issues after Christmas and he stepped up to be a paid member of staff and has gone down a storm (especially with the boys). He is going to Uni to study Biochemical Medicine and we would like to get him a present to thank him for all that he is done and hopefully to remember us by. Do we A) do him the general leaving present of a card and handprints from all the children or B) speak to his mum to see if there is anything he would really like (within reason) or C) buy him a really nice pen that every time he uses he (hopefully) thinks of us. Any ideas will be considered but we would like it to be special as he has been such a help to us and the children over the last couple of terms and we will really miss him. Saying that knowing how short uni terms are he should be back with us by next May........
Guest
We bought our student when he first went off to uni a Dictaphone so he didn't always have to write notes seemed to like it. Like you our volunteer came to us during his 6th form studies and now has a year left of teacher training and still comes in to help and join in staff socials . He will make a great foundation stage teacher.
AnonyMouse_19135
When our fabulous volunteer went off to uni we bought a large plastic lidded crate and filled it with things he would need for uni like cleaning bits, pasta, a sandwich maker, notebook and pens etc - he loved it
