Well Cait we had a parent who was one of the pj gang - she would drop off and pick up in pjs. Don't see the youngsters out in pjs so much these days but at one time they used to wear them shopping in Tescos here. You do as you please!

husband stolen my car for the next month....can't cope i haven't been without a car since i was 17!!!

Sooooo with you on that one!

We just sold our car, we usually trade in - however my daft husband said "let's do it privately... we'll have much better options blah, blah.... blah". He put an add up for six weeks- the car was sold and money in our account less than six hous later- and I have no car.

So at what point in the day do I officially have to get dressed? Not used to all this 'holiday' stuff. Have to say that I'm really not looking forward to putting anything more restricting on than this comfortable three sizes too big cotton nightie!

I wish I'd kept all those kaftans that were all the rage back in the day!

I usually reckon on putting proper clothes on before I eat lunch. I was talking with my HT the other day about wearing pjs in Tesco and that my pjs were actually more decent than many of the things I see people in in Tescos. Then I got all embarrassed because I realised I was talking to my HT about my pyjamas! He has actually seen them but wearing them to school for Children in Need isn't quite the same thing!

I have just realised that I have no shorts at all and couldn't find any when I went out to get an emergency pair!

I have "treated" myself to a bike - not having cycled for nigh on 30 years so today I have cycled (pushed bike up hills) to the beach where I have lounged, swum, played frisbee, read trashy novel and generally lazed around. Unfortunately having cycled there I then had to cycle back - much more pushing of bike on the return journey.

Did you drink 'lashings and lashings of Ginger Beer' - ooops sorry came over all Enid Blyton there  no seriously all sounds wonderful, just take the bike nonsense out of the equation and that would be heaven! xD

Ah see now.....if you would like unwelcome unexpected visitors then don't get dressed until at least 11am.........if you would like a day to yourself - then be up and dressed and hard at work by 8am - that theory always works for me :ph34r:xD

I appear to work to this theory too....... :-)

Could I also add..... Do not go outside your door in your pjs ( at around 10.30 ish) to help random 'lost' people...... Your front door will slam shut, and you will have to ask your neighbour for spare key whilst wearing said pjs! :-)

Love the pj look but we even have dressing gowns and slippers sometimes ! hair in rollers and no make up not a pretty sight but some of mums are so young they can look glamorous in PJ's I am trying to buck the current trend here so dress early in case I am locked out of house in the hot weather. think the postman would get a shock!!!!

Can I just say.......

Have made a start on the 'to do' list (only cos it's raining hard and only after I had deployed several avoidance tactics  )........right now get off here and get on with it!!! xD

Congratulations! I was feeling a little smug as I have done 21 of the 62 things I had on my list that must be done by the end of the holiday. Then I realised that most of the things I had done were jobs like 'book car in for MOT' and I haven't done any of the bigger school jobs. :( am currently trying (and failing) to write a child friendly behaviour document... Hence being on here.

Plus my feet have frozen so I can't concentrate at all! ;)

When you find the answer to that one please, please, please share ... I spend hours trying to come up with something that works :P

I'm seeing today as half way through the holidays and in true style I'm certainly NOT half way through my to-do list :(

Oh dear goodness - is it really 'halfway' through the holiday :o blimey - I need to get on with it then - phone call interrupted me - then it stopped raining so i decided to go out and open up the greenhouses and poly-tunnel, then I picked some runner beans - you get the picture  xD

To be fair I've Machine washed the dolls two days ago, shock and horror on opening the machine door to find limbless babies and the like - now struggling to get them back on!

My dear black and white furry friend - haven't done anything very much - bit of 'archiving' - bit of adding to various 'lists' - but it's a start (of sorts)........

is it lunchtime yet? :ph34r::D

Well yesterday was "nighty" day - a fetching little number in spots just in case you were wondering.

Smug Alert - I was such a goody two shoes and managed to get through several jobs - updated the ops plan, wrote the newsletter and "housekeeping notes" (quaint term for my parental nag list), updated the website to reflect the new stuff and got some loose outline planning sorted.

However each of these jobs then led to other joblets being added to the ever growing list including some monumental things like trying to get my head around the new SEND code of practice local offer that I must now publish.

I now feel that I really must get everything up to speed as Mr Soup Dragon pointed me in the direction of the Sky News article about inspections. If you didn't see it they have investigated how Ofsted have not been keeping up with inspections. Allegedly there are 342 settings (nurseries and childminders) who haven't been inspected at all (lucky beasts), 7280 who haven't been inspected for 5 years and 611 who haven't been inspected for six years. It is almost 6 years since my last inspection and whilst we having been waiting for "THE KNOCK" for ages given this report I wouldn't be in the least surprised if the powers that be don't re-jig their inspection priorities and start hunting us 5 & 6 years and waiting settings down.:ph34r:

However ......... it is a lovely day, the sun is shining and allegedly it's going to rain tomorrow and into next week so whilst I hate to procrastinate I feel an overwhelming urge to take a book down to the beach - after all I am "on holiday" B)

Hmmm I saw that ........might have yelled a rude word or three at the TV

Can there really be 342 settings operating without any inspection?

Soooo working on your theory - I can relax we are only 3.5 years from our last inspection! xD

My plans for today - s'pose I should get on with the 'to do' list - in reality I will probably head for my garden! :D ......decisions, decisions.......

Have a lovely day at the beach Sue! :1b

Have just waited for a wash to finish so will be pegging it out and then it's back on the bike to cycle to the beach - whilst I feel righteous about having this little bit of exercise and fresh (diesel & petrol fumed) air I see absolutely no benefit in terms of inch loss - quite frankly by now (4 cycles rides to the beach xD - it is 7 miles there and back as the crow flies let alone pedalling around all those roads) I should have the figure of a pencil xDxDxD

Enjoy your day - whatever you choose to do and for all those fellow procrastinators out there it's due to rain in the next couple of days as good as excuse as any to enjoy the summery weather whilst we have it B)

Yea Yea that old chestnut xDxD

Had a lovely day at the seaside - cycled there and back, swam in the sea - terrified one of my little ones who left in July at the seaside because obviously we live in the cupboards at preschool and don't get out much if at all.

At some point I really really really must look at some of the piles of work that are lying around feeling neglected xD

We can tackle the work when 'Big Bertha' hits on Sunday - let me know when she reaches you! xD
