Goodbyes and hopes for the future

Recommended Posts

we finished yesterday - had a leavers party - always sorry to see some leave but glad when others leave lol!

i, too have worked very closely with a child with mild autism - he has just started to recognise me and use me as a familiar adult to himself and learnt to say my name and now he is going - will miss him .

My children finished today and one of the mums who's been with me for 2 years shed a tear. Some others said lovely things. As for next year - I confess to mostly being anxious at the moment. I have a class of 30 and based on what I've seen so far there are some challenges heading my way - both children and parents. Those I'm keeping as Y1s span the entire ability range from emerging to exceeding. I just saw the TA timetable today and I have the most bizarre mix of support from 3 different people in bitty chunks with none in the afternoons at all. One of them is disinterested and one has no EY experience at all, usually wears short skirts, is always pristine and has to take an umbrella whenever she goes outside. And... I'm really anxious about the whole separate judgement for EY in Ofsted thing.

We finished today and said goodbye to 27 children. We only have 5 returners in September, but lots of 2 year olds starting. We have had a few characters that I'm pleased are moving on (one of the few times I've been grateful for single entry nursery!) but on the whole we had a lovely set of parents this year. It was really nice to have parents interested in contributing to their child's LJ's.
