Toy Cleaning Do you use a dishwasher

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have started on the usual clean up exercise for the end of year. All my plastic bricks and playdough toys go straight into the dishwasher.

But I was looking at some of the dolls. Poor things have had so many baths in the mud kitchen!

Anyway the plastic bodied ones I have put through the dishwasher and they have come up beautifully, but am not sure how the soft bodied and the ones with "real hair" will do.

Has anyone tried?

What results have you had?

I may take them home and put them through washing machine, it may be safer.

Dishwasher for some things especially playdough tools, rollers and cutters in a big wash bag.

Have this year hired a "Rug Doctor" to clean the rugs - they are lovely and sparkly now - woe betide the child who pukes or pees on any of them next term :D

We rather love our steamer and have steam cleaned most of the other stuff including the tables and chairs and most importantly the dollies - too much immersion in water and they spend the whole of the autumn term peeing everywhere :D

That sound better. I think that may be a job for next week or maybe when I return from holidays. I want to have some sort of glamorous nails for lying on the beach and sipping cocktails.

Just to let you know that I have just released the rather sparkling dinosaurs and wild animals from the dishwasher. I think it could be the farm animals turn next!

I'm going to sound like a TV advert here!! I've been using Cillitt Bang, Grease and sparkle. (Other cleaners are available!) Best thing I've EVER used. A bit pricey at £3,50 but I noticed Tesco have got it half price. It lifts the grease and pen marks off Community Plaything Tables and cleans up plastic chairs a treat. Works really well on those rubber interlocking floor mats. A little bit goes a long way......Mmm, I wonder if I should use it at home??!! xD  xD  xD
