AnonyMouse_50014
I've just moved to a new school as EYFS leader and our nursery is very low on numbers. I was wondering if anyone had any ideas for advertising and 'enticing' parents to send their children to your school nursery? I think the problem we have is that we are in an area that has a lot of private nurseries offering wrap around child care where we only offer 5 mornings or 5 afternoons a week. The Reception classes (two of them) are full so there are no problems with numbers as the children enter school, it's just nursery!
AnonyMouse_38881
We have exactly the same issue so will follow this with interest. We are meeting to discuss it this week so will keep you posted. One thing I favoured was asking the families of children in reception who didn't use the nursery to complete a short 'why?' questionnaire to help us work it out. Not sure if that will be agreed to though!

Guest
Why not hold an open morning? Set up some very exciting activities and send out invites around the local area.

AnonyMouse_22106
Our school nurseries are mainly mornings only run by teacher then the afternoon shifts into being called 'wrap around' in which they take any of the morning nursery children on a private basis plus any children who have only just turned 3. ALL of our school nurseries (which we have quite a few) are packed out using this method - to the disadvantage of PVI though
