Formative Assessements - how often?

Just wondering how often you do your formative assessments - I was looking at every half term but someone else suggested every 3 months?

Thoughts please......

Formative assessment goes on all the time and informs planning etc, do you mean summative where you pull together your judgements for tracking purposes?

Some do it half termly, some termly - but you have to have a decent period of time for children to actually move developmentally speaking!
